But if one has got chronic hepatitis c, then it cannot be cured and unfortunately the diseased will have to take it for the lifetime with him. Though hepatitis c is an infectious disease, it is very impotant to understand whether  is hepatitis c or not.

Hepatitis C Contagious

Hepatitis c is contagious because when the blood infected with the infectious disease hepatitis c virus is transferred to the other, the recepient of the blood gets infected with the hepatitis c. Previously the blood was donated without checking up for any infection and thereby there was a huge rate of hepatitis c infection spreaded out. But now there is proper check up done via blood test for whether it is safe to transfer the blood to the another and so the rate of spreading out the infection of hepatitis c is reduced.

Hepatitis C Contagious

It is to be noted that hepatitis c is contagious but it is not spread out by just shaking hands, hugging, kissing, etc. It is also believed that hepatitis c virus is passed when one indulges into sexual activity with the infected partner. It is true to an extent but not totally correct. One gets infected with the hepatitis c virus only if he or she gets into sexual activity with many of the individuals.

Hepatitis c is contagious when the same needle of the infected is used by others for tattooing or piercing. The hepatitis c virus easily gets tranferred with such a common needle usage. Thereby it is very firmly made a rule for the hospitals to dispose off the injections if they are already used by one. This is to avoid any kind of transferring of the infection.

If one has been caught up with hepatitis c, hepatitis c contagious for the lifetime. The infected even though recovers will carry the hepatitis c virus for the lifetime with him. So even though one has recovered from the hepatitis c he or she should not donate blood to restrict the transmission of the hepatitis c virus. Thus certain things need to be taken care of to avoid getting infected with the hepatitis c virus but keeping the infected isolated is not the solution of being hepatitis c contagious.
